Honest Review of Sennheiser IE800 Earphones

The Sennheiser IE800s are the best for me for in-ears. I love these headphones, they’re very neutral and accurate, but also musical enough. The treble adds a slight liveliness without being sibilant or overly bright. The bass is fantastic with plenty of impacts and doesn’t overshadow the mids, which are still slightly forward in the mix. The soundstage is decent (not super wide like the Sony MDR-EX1000s), but I still think it’s great for an in-ear headphone. Okay, these headphones I really like. The treble is clear and has plenty of sparkles, but isn’t harsh or sibilant. I love the bass too, it’s very tight and punchy without being overly bloated.

The soundstage here is also very intimate, probably one of the best for this price range at least that I’ve heard so far. I’m not exactly sure how to describe it, but the mids are forward in the mix and the treble is clear without being harsh or sibilant.

When we were doin Sennheiser IE800 Earphones Review, a bit of a downside is that if you play these too loud (at around 80% volume) I do notice some sibilance on certain male vocals on certain songs. It only lasts a second or two and you don’t notice it unless you’re really looking for it, but I’m not sure if this is normal or not.

By doing Sennheiser IE800 Earphones Review we conclude this earphone are really great, but they are not for everyone. They might be much to detailed for some, and the amount of bass will surely disappoint many others. The sound quality is fantastic, however. If you can afford them, don’t think twice about it

As already mentioned in our Sennheiser IE800 Earphones Review. This is debatable. Many people swear that they hear a difference between the Sennheiser IE800 and other such as Beats by Dre headphones, but most of those users do not have another set of headphones to compare with. It is my opinion that the audio quality is pretty much identical. It’s a matter of preference and whether or not you can tell a difference in hearing various frequencies while listening to music. Some people think it has a superior audio quality while others believe that other headphones such as Beats By Dre offer better sound.

No, they do not. They are designed for listening to music on the go and not for taking calls on the go. This pair of Sennheiser IE800 In-Ear Audiophile Reference Headphones offers an amazing sound experience that is perfectly tailored to meet all your entertainment needs.

No, they do not. We also mentioned it on this Sennheiser IE800 Earphones Review. You can purchase a case that helps cut out some of the ambient noise in your environment, but these are not in-ear headphones with active noise-canceling technology. They’re all about delivering superior sound quality and comfort when listening to music on the go.

I think it’s important to look at all kinds of different aspects such as resolution, clarity and upper midrange performance. With that said, one would need to take into consideration how they plan on using their headphones or where they will be using them for. For example, if you are looking for a pair of headphones that is made purely with the purpose of being studio reference monitors, then I’d have to say you need to be looking at something like the Sennheiser IE800 or Sennheiser HD700. The IE800’s offer amazing detail retrieval and what some would call “perfect” upper midrange performance that results in the best sound-stage one could expect out of an IEM.
